This is the Norwesco Flat Bottom Utility Tank - 50 Gallon. The Flat Bottom Utility tank can be used for many applications. It is the perfect choice when looking for a tank to put in the bed of a pickup truck. The tank may be used with or without bands. Our Norwesco Utility Tanks are constructed with a UV stabilized resin and a specific gravity rating of 1.5 (12.5 lbs per gallon).

What kind of fitting is on this tank, is it threaded, and how can I connect a hose to this fitting?

The tank includes a 1" NPT polypropylene fitting with female threads. Most garden hoses are 3/4" female garden hose thread. Therefore, you'd first need to get a 1" to 3/4" reducer and then you would need a NPT thread to garden hose thread adapter. These are common plumbing supplies that can be sourced locally.

Wanted to confirm that I can store water in this for drinking..is it considered “food grade”?

All Norwesco products are made with FDA approved polyethylene. Some products are also NSF-61 approved (depending on the plant they are made in). Feel free to contact us for more information.

Norwesco Tank Warranty Details:

Manufacturer warrants that if this part is proven to be defective in material or workmanship within three (3) years from the date of manufacture, manufacturer will (at company's option) either replace or repair said part. This standard limited warranty does not apply to damages resulting from misuse, improper application of recommended materials, accident, or improper installation or maintenance. Remedy to the buyer is limited to the replacement of any defective product (or its component where applicable), F.O.B. point of manufacture. The buyer's remedy under this warranty does not include any other direct or indirect consequential damages which result from defects in material and/or workmanship of its products.
